Picnics and BBQs
On a sunny spring day it seems a shame to stay underground or indoors so why not have a picnic at Jenolan instead. There are many options for those who choose to plan ahead.
Go for a walk down by the Blue Lake or continue further down the river. Possibly eat beside the waterfall. See these sections for information about those walks. Another option is to go for a walk up McKeowns Valley to the Playing Fields.
For those people not wishing to walk far there are picnic tables adjacent to the car parks or you can simply set up under the shelter opposite the ticket office although be warned - some families arrive and monopolize all the seating so don't count on this.
Coin operated BBQs can be found at each of the car parks. This is also one other which is one of the secrets of Jenolan. Go for a walk up behind Caves House and follow the road up the valley past the Gatehouse and Mountain Lodge. You will pass Wallaby Hall on your left and at the of that is a small shelter with BBQ. Its a great secluded area for a large family to gather for a BBQ and few people know about it.
